A heart of gold lies veiled in cries,
gazing where the sun dares rise.
Life’s proud emblem, chasing flame,
yet storms consume what hope might claim.
The night is dim, my thoughts run deep,
I speak with stars that secrets keep.
Oh, sorrow vast and silent plea,
this world has cast its weight on me.
Even gold and silver’s gleam—
are but shadows in a dream.
I taste the sweetness of delight,
seen only through a door held tight.
O Lord, have mercy—hear my soul,
my heart would rise, would seek its whole,
to break these chains and reach the sky,
to live, to breathe, to truly fly.
So hear this sob, a wounded song,
that weeps where aching tears belong—
each drop a prayer I can't rescind,
repentant as the midnight wind.
