Austin Butler Set to Channel Paul Walker's Spirit in Thrilling New Film 'American Speed'
Could Austin Butler be the next Paul Walker? It certainly looks that way, as the rising star takes on a role in American Speed, a gripping true crime drama about the scandalous world of 1980s race car drivers.
Butler, with his striking resemblance to the late Paul Walker, is poised to dive deep into the high-octane world of illegal racing, just as Walker did in his iconic Fast & Furious days.
Fans can expect a riveting performance as Butler shares the screen with none other than Tom Holland in what promises to be an explosive film.
American Speed tells the shocking true story of three infamous race car driver brothers—Don, Dale, and Bill Whittington. Don and Bill's careers were tainted by a notorious scandal in which they financed their racing through criminal activities, including drug trafficking and money laundering, all while racing in elite events like Le Mans and the Indy 500.
The film is produced by Oscar-winning Charles Roven and his Atlas Entertainment, ensuring it will be a must-see blockbuster. While a director is yet to be confirmed, Amazon Studios is reportedly eyeing the project, making it one to watch closely. Will Austin Butler prove he’s the next Paul Walker in this high-speed thriller? Only time will tell.

AUSTIN BUTLER SET TO PORTRAY PATRICK BATEMAN IN UPCOMING "AMERICAN PSYCHO" FILM.
Austin Butler is set to take on the iconic role of Patrick Bateman in Luca Guadagnino’s hotly anticipated new spin on American Psycho, the bestselling novel by Bret Easton Ellis, produced by Lionsgate.

While rumors swirled about Jacob Elordi stepping into Bateman's designer shoes, those plans have been shelved.
However, Butler and Elordi do share an interesting connection—both have portrayed very different versions of Elvis Presley, with Elordi in Sofia Coppola's Priscilla and Butler in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis.
This reimagining of American Psycho won’t be a direct remake of the 2000 film, but rather a fresh adaptation of Ellis' provocative novel. Christian Bale’s legendary turn as Bateman in the original film, which delved into the yuppie serial killer's dark psyche during the '80s, will be reinterpreted through Guadagnino's unique lens. Known for his sensual, emotional storytelling in Call Me by Your Name and Challengers, as well as genre films like Suspiria and Bones and All, Guadagnino’s take could add a more erotic edge to the psychological thriller, setting it apart from the original’s satirical horror tone.
With a script penned by Scott Z. Burns (The Laundromat), this film promises to be a gripping, and likely boundary-pushing, reinvention of the notorious Bateman character.
