AUSTIN BUTLER SET TO PORTRAY PATRICK BATEMAN IN UPCOMING "AMERICAN PSYCHO" FILM.

Austin Butler is set to take on the iconic role of Patrick Bateman in Luca Guadagnino’s hotly anticipated new spin on American Psycho, the bestselling novel by Bret Easton Ellis, produced by Lionsgate.

While rumors swirled about Jacob Elordi stepping into Bateman's designer shoes, those plans have been shelved. 

However, Butler and Elordi do share an interesting connection—both have portrayed very different versions of Elvis Presley, with Elordi in Sofia Coppola's Priscilla and Butler in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis. 

This reimagining of American Psycho won’t be a direct remake of the 2000 film, but rather a fresh adaptation of Ellis' provocative novel. Christian Bale’s legendary turn as Bateman in the original film, which delved into the yuppie serial killer's dark psyche during the '80s, will be reinterpreted through Guadagnino's unique lens. Known for his sensual, emotional storytelling in Call Me by Your Name and Challengers, as well as genre films like Suspiria and Bones and All, Guadagnino’s take could add a more erotic edge to the psychological thriller, setting it apart from the original’s satirical horror tone. 

With a script penned by Scott Z. Burns (The Laundromat), this film promises to be a gripping, and likely boundary-pushing, reinvention of the notorious Bateman character.

Austin Butler to Star in 'The Barrier': A Role That Could Redefine His Career and Hollywood!

Austin Butler is set to star in The Barrier, a time travel film from 20th Century Studios. Directed by the acclaimed Edward Berger, the movie is based on a screenplay by rising writer MacMillan Hedges, adapted from his own short story.
